Dear detectives, today's newsletter is going to make you sit upright if you're currently lying down, so hold tight.

Because imagine being an investigator, sitting across from someone accused of killing children.

You ask the question:

“Why did you do it?”

And instead of answering, he looks at you and says:

“Can I have some cookies? And tea?”

So now you're sitting in an interrogation room with a suspected killer who apparently has decided this is snack time.

You leave, get him what he asked for, and come back.

And for the next few minutes, he calmly eats his cookies and drinks his tea while everyone else sits there waiting.

Then, when he's finished, he finally starts talking.

He tells you that the child had been sleeping.

He took her away, tried strangling her, but she wasn't fighting back.

So he picked up a brick.

And hit her with it.

Again.

And again.

Then he buried her.

You ask him the question that seems almost impossible to answer:

“Why?”

His response is chillingly casual:

“I just wanted to.”

And here's the part that makes this story so horrifying.

The person sitting across from you wasn't some hardened adult serial killer.

He was eight years old.

THE CRIME TIMES

Welcome to another episode of The Crime Times, your weekly dose of chilling crimes, bizarre mysteries, and stories that will make you question just how well you know the people around you.

Keep your lights off, wear your detective hat and let’s get back to this week’s case.

He Was Eight Years Old. And He’d Already Killed at the age of seven.

His mother came home from the market and found her seven-year-old son sitting on the floor, quietly playing with his toy cars.

Everything looked normal. Except the baby she'd left with him was gone.

She asked where she was.

Her son smiled.

Then said:

“Mom, I killed her.”

She thought he was joking.

So, he took her hand, led her into the backyard, and pointed at a patch of freshly disturbed dirt.

His mother started digging with her heart in her throat.

Her hands hit the skin.

She pulled her six-month-old niece out of a shallow grave.

She had been killed with a brick.

And the seven-year-old standing beside her calmly explained:

“I smashed her head with a brick.”

The mother vomited.

Because this wasn't a prank.

Her son had killed a baby, dragged the body into the backyard, dug a grave, buried him, covered the dirt with loose grass...

and then went back inside to play with his toy cars.

The entire thing had taken less than half an hour.

And somehow, the family decided not to call the police (you gotta be kidding me)

They Decided He Was Just a Child

When Amar's father came home, he beat his son with a belt.

Then the parents convinced themselves that Amar didn't understand what he'd done.

He was just a child. It was an accident.

They could punish him themselves.

A month later, when the baby's mother returned, the family begged her not to go to the police.

Her sister was sobbing.

Her brother-in-law dropped to his knees.

“Please, it was just an accident.”

They told her the children had been playing.

She agreed (someone put her behind the bars as well, please.)

The baby's body remained buried.

And Amar stayed home.

Then, eight months later, his parents had another baby.

A daughter.

And they gave her to Amar to look after.

They had no idea what they were about to put in his hands.

Then They Gave Him Another Baby

His parents placed the newborn in his arms and told him:

“This is your little sister. You have to protect and look after her.”

For a while, everything seemed normal.

He sat beside her crib.

Watched her sleep.

Smiled at her.

Until one afternoon, while his parents were asleep, Amar walked over to the crib.

His sister was awake.

He wrapped both hands around her neck.

She kicked and waved her arms.

Then she stopped moving (God, she was just eight months old)

Amar left her in the crib...

and went back to his toys.

When his mother woke up, she touched her daughter's cheek.

It was cold.

She turned to Amar.

“What have you done? Did you kill your sister?”

He nodded.

“So What If I Killed Her?”

The neighbors heard the screaming and rushed inside.

They saw the baby.

They saw Amar being punished.

And this time, they knew something was seriously wrong.

Someone told his father they had to call the police.

He refused (y’all cursing or not????)

Then allegedly said:

“No, I'm going to kill him myself.”

The neighbors had to physically hold him back.

And Amar?

He started crying.

Then suddenly screamed:

“So what if I killed her?”

Not I didn't do it.

Not I'm sorry.

Just:

So what? (that should have been the last call, these freakin idiots!)

The family still wanted everyone to stay quiet.

They believed they could somehow teach him not to do it again.

Except there was already a pattern.

He had killed once.

Then, just eight months later, he killed again.

Then Another Baby Disappeared

A six-month-old girl named Kushbu was left at a local home daycare while her mother ran errands.

When she returned, Kushbu was gone.

The neighborhood panicked.

And then someone remembered Amar.

One of his relatives approached Kushbu's mother and reportedly said:

“I have this nephew... and he's got a history... of doing some evil things to babies. I feel like he's involved.”

A crowd gathered outside Amar's home.

His parents insisted:

“He's just a boy. How could he be responsible for this?”

(you are really asking that??? After he had killed two children???)

But the crowd wouldn't leave.

Eventually, Amar was brought outside.

People demanded:

“Tell us what you did.”

According to the source, some witnesses said he smiled.

Then he said:

“I killed her.”

(just like that…)

And he led them to where he'd buried Kushbu.

Then He Told Police Why

Amar was arrested on May 30, 2007.

He confessed.

When police asked why he had killed them, his answer was chillingly simple:

“Because I wanted to. I didn't see why I shouldn't.”

And here's what makes the case so difficult to understand.

He was just seven. He had friends. He had toys.

But his friends had noticed he was unusually aggressive. He would laugh while punching them for real during play fights. If he lost a game, he'd lash out. He increasingly isolated himself.

There were warning signs.

But nothing that explained how a child went from ordinary tantrums...

to killing babies.

And Here's What Makes It Even Stranger

Amar was eventually charged only in Kushbu's death.

His parents never pressed charges over the deaths of his cousin and sister.

Under Indian law at the time, because he was a minor, he could not receive an adult sentence.

He was eventually released from custody.

Today, he's believed to be in his early twenties.

His whereabouts are unknown

There are rumors that he changed his name and started a new life.

But those are only rumors.

And that leaves us with a question that is genuinely difficult to answer:

What do you do with an eight-year-old who has already committed murder?

Can a child who did something this horrific grow into a completely different person?

Or was there something inside him that nobody understood until it was too late?

We don't have a satisfying answer.

Maybe that's the most unsettling part.

Because the boy who once sat on the floor playing with toy cars after killing babies is now an adult somewhere.

So, detectives...

Do you believe an eight-year-old who commits murder can truly change?

Hit reply.

We want your theories. 🕵🏻‍♀️
